The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (ABPF) recently presented the prestigious Brandlaureate Country Branding Award to Manjit Singh Gill & Sukhjit Singh Gill of Goldkartz, Malaysia’s Bhangra ambassadors.
Brothers Manjit Singh Gill (M-Ji) and Sukhjit Singh Gill (Surj), the Goldkartz duo, were presented the prestigious award by APBF chairman Tan Sri Mohamed Hashim Mohd Ali, at the Majestic Hotel, here.
The Brandlaureate Country Branding award was presented to Goldkartz in recognition of its efforts in promoting Malaysia through their world-wide performances.
Goldkartz was also the first group from Southeast Asia to have performed at the UK Asian Music Awards which was held at London’s Wembley last October.
They have toured and performed extensively in Britain, Canada, Australia, India, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mauritius, among many other countries.
Goldkartz has also attained two entries into the Malaysia Book of Records for producing the first local made Bhangra album in Malaysia and the first from this region to have produced and sung for a Bollywood film.
